HOLY WEEK WORSHIP

Not all services are held at St. Paul's Point Edward.  We believe in celebrating the Easter season with all our brothers and sisters, so services have been scheduled at different locations, please be sure to check.

Worship begins with a blessing of the Palms and remembrance of Jesus's entry into Jerusalem.  Palm crosses that have been made by the congregation will be distributed. Holy Eucharist is celebrated.
March 29, 10am at St. Paul's Point Edward

The Triduum begins as we remember the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the ritual act of the washing of feet.  It is a symbolic action to remind us that we are called to serve and not be served.  The altar is then stripped in preparation for Good Friday Matthew 26:30-46 and Psalm 22 are read and as the last candle is extinguished the congregation departs in silence.

Good Friday is held jointly with Point Edward Presbyterian Church and we alternate locations annually.  A somber service marking Christ's death upon the cross.  One of the few days of the Christian year not marked with the Celebration of Eucharist.

In the quiet of early morning we gather like the women at the empty tomb to be the first witnesses to the resurrection, in Word, song and prayer
April 5, 7am at the Pergola under the bridge

“Alleluia Christ is Risen!
The Lord is Risen Indeed. Alleluia!”
Choral Eucharist to celebrate the joy Easter.  Music and worship reflect the joy of the resurrection.
