HOLY WEEK WORSHIP
Not all services are held at St. Paul's Point Edward. We believe in celebrating the Easter season with all our brothers and sisters, so services have been scheduled at different locations, please be sure to check.
The Triduum begins as we remember the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the ritual act of the washing of feet. It is a symbolic action to remind us that we are called to serve and not be served. The altar is then stripped in preparation for Good Friday Matthew 26:30-46 and Psalm 22 are read and as the last candle is extinguished the congregation departs in silence.
March 29, 5:30pm pot luck, 7pm worship at St. Paul's Point Edward |
It begins with the lighting of the Easter fire outside the church. That fire is then processed back into the church to the chant "The light of Christ" and symbolizes the light of Christ coming back into our lives. We will mark this with Baptism and Confirmation and welcome Bishop Terry Dance to his church.
